Jon & Michelle's Hotel at the Lafayette Wedding Photos- Buffalo Wedding Photography
Hey everyone! The year is wrapping up and I’ve got just one more wedding on New Year’s Eve! Today, I’m excited to share Jon & Michelle’s Hotel at the Lafayette Wedding Photos with you all! We were back at the Lafayette for the getting ready shots. Michelle had a beautiful wedding dress from Vera Wang hanging on the door for me when I came in. This is one of my favorite getting ready spots in Buffalo—the second floor corner suite WITH the balcony—it’s amazing! Michelle put the finishing touches on and it was time for the reveal with her dad. As a father with a daughter, I absolutely love doing this! It’s such a special moment.
Before we left for the ceremony, I went outside to get a few photos of the girls out on the balcony, from the street. It was the first time I’ve shot it this way and it definitely won’t be the last! The ceremony was at St. Louis church on Edward Street. This is another one of my favorite places in Buffalo. It was a beautiful ceremony and Jon and Michelle were clearly ecstatic about getting married!
We went back to Lafayette Square for some photos with the whole group. I really like shooting here because you have a great view of City Hall from a few blocks away. It was a cold day but the wedding party really did a great job. I’m always so impressed with the girls in this situation. They’re wearing half the amount of clothes as the guys are, but never complain as much. (Sorry fellas, you did a good job, too!) After it got dark, we went over to Main Street, in front of Shea’s. The huge BUFFALO sign is always great to include in photos. These guys added to it with sparklers and the photos came out great!
On to the reception! Whenever I talked to or was with Jon and Michelle, I always felt like we clicked. When I got to the reception, I found out why—our mutual love for Seinfeld! They used quotes from my favorite show as titles for their tables! You’ll have to scroll down to see how they did it. The room was perfectly lit with pink uplights. It was a big room but it felt intimate with the lighting. The introductions and toasts went off without a hitch and then it was time for the special dances.
All three dances were special in their own way. I love that you can see bits and pieces of the relationships in each one. Once the open dance started, things took a turn…In my 100+ weddings, I’ve NEVER seen a groom get down like Jon did. That man TORE up the dance floor. Not to be outdone, Michelle’s dad held his own on the floor. It was a really fun day topped off with an exciting night.
Thanks again for having me, Jon and Michelle! I wish you guys all the best!
