Chris & Abby's Shadow Lake Wedding - Rochester Wedding Photography

Hey everyone! Today I’m sharing photos from Chris & Abby’s Shadow Lake Wedding. I love these guys! This is the 4th wedding I’ve done in this group of friends stretching all the way back to 2010! Now, it’s like seeing family every time there’s a wedding. We started at Abby’s parents house in Rochester, NY. There was such a great vibe in the house as Abby was getting ready. Soon after she was ready, we headed over to the church for the ceremony.

Sometimes you can actually feel the love and sense of celebration in the room. This was the case with Chris & Abby. It felt tangible. You could tell that these weren’t just people attending a wedding. They were here to celebrate with the bride and groom. It was truly special. In this church, there’s a tradition where the groom keeps his back to the bride as she comes down the aisle. The point is to put all the attention on the bride and her father. The groom has to wait until the father is asked, “who gives away this bride” and he responds with, “I do.” With the anticipation built to a maximum, the groom finally gets to see his bride. This is how they did it and it was a great moment! The rest of the ceremony was beautiful and Chris and Abby were ecstatic to finally be married!

We went over to Shadow Lake for photos and the reception. They have a great location for photos, including the pond featured in the first few photos we did there. After introductions and dinner we went right back outside for more photos. The sunset was uh-maze-ing! The light, the colors, the sky…perfect! Once the sun went down, we had a few more events inside. A few friends shared a song and we had a few toasts. After a few games and group photos the day was over!

I had a great time working with Chris & Abby, as I always do with this group. Can’t wait for the next one! *cough* Isaias 😉
